Bioversity International is pleased to announce the two winners of the 2010 Vavilov Frankel Fellowships. The two researchers are:
Mr. Feysal Bushira Mustefa from the Department of Plant Sciences, College of Agriculture, Haramaya University, Ethiopia, will carry out a study entitled “Genetic diversity and population structure of Ethiopian Safflower(Carthamus tinctorius L.) using Molecular and Morphological markers” at the Western Regional Plant Introduction Station of USDA-ARS-Washington State University. This Fellowship is made with the support of Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.;
and,
Ms. Li Ling from the Liaoning Institute of Cash Crop, China, who will carry out a study entitled “Climate and soil characterisation of collection sites for pea landrace accessions in China” at the Australian Temperate Field Crops Collection. This Fellowship is made with the support of the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC), Australia.
