New resources on agrobiodiversity

The April issue of Seedling has been published.

Seedling is a publication of GRAIN, an international NGO which promotes the sustainable management and use of agricultural biodiversity based on people’s control over genetic resources and local knowledge. In this April issue you will find interesting articles on: seeds, farmers and biotechnology companies where it discusses “terminator technology”; agrofuels in India; GMOs and much more.

The IIED has also published a new book titled: Towards food sovereignty: reclaiming autonomous food systems by Michael Pimbert. This is an on-line book with video and audio files. The first three chapters can be viewed from the IIED website .

These viewable chapters outline the ecological basis of food and agriculture, the social and environmental costs of modern food systems, and the policy reversals needed to democratize food systems. Have a look.
