WOTW: foodbase

foodbase is  the United Kingdom’s Food Standards Agency’s open access repository. This site intends to make the results of the Agency’s science more accessible to the outside world.  At present it contains 300 reports that can be accessed full-text and this number will undoubtably grow over time.

The database can be searched by author, title, keyword etc, but one can also browse the reports by broad subject categories. The subject areas that the repository covers include: Consumers /Contaminations /Food Groups /Ingredients /Sources of food.  Most of the reports are downloadable in PDF.

The homepage also has a column that highlights the latest additons to the repository and the date they were submitted.  If food and nutrition is an area of interest for you, it is worthwhile taking a look.
