Biodiversity in Mexico

The largest comprehensive study on biodiversity for Mexico has just been published: “Capital natural de México”.

The study was coordinated by la Comisión Nacional para el Conocimiento y Uso de la Biodiversidad (Conabio), led by Dr. Jose Sarukhán, one of the most eminent ecologists in Mexico.   It is comprised of 5 volumes, and they cover the following subject areas:

I. Conocimiento actual de la biodiversidad;

II. Estado de conservación y tendencias de cambio;

III. Políticas públicas y perspectivas de sustentabilidad;

IV. Capacidades humanas, institucionales y financieras, y

V. Escenarios futuros.
