GCARD Conference 2010

The Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development will convene experts in agricultural research for development, including World Food Prize Laureates, government ministers, farmers, community development experts and leading scientists in Montpellier, France, March 28-31, 2010.

This event will be held every 2 years, the event is being organized by the Global Forum on Agricultural Research. It is a key consultation event for engaging end users such as farmers, forest and fishing communities, and National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS) in the development of the research program.

Some of the main outputs from this conference include an action plan and a framework for improving agricultural research globally; which should bring about:

* Closer relationships between all involved and collaborative action for agricultural research and innovation

* New relationships that push agricultural development forward.

* New tools and information directly relevant to agricultural development.
